Your next flight could be a whole lot more interesting, and involve fewer inane in-flight movies. Delta has announced that they will be equipping their entire US fleet with Aircell’s Gogo, an in-flight wireless internet service, early in 2009. Frankly, we have mixed reactions to the announcement.

On one hand, we can surf the net from 30,000 feet in the air. That’s cool. No more being trapped in an aluminum tube with only the option of watching the Kit Kitridge: An American Girl movie two or three times before you land. On the other hand, we can surf the net from 30,000 feet in the air. Do you think our bosses will actually expect us to work? As bad as having nothing to do but watch Princess Diaries over again would be, work just might be worse.
Also on the not-so-great side, there has been mention that there will be no filtering of content. Will I be crammed next to a guy looking at questionable material for four hours?

We’ll think about it and let you know if this whole in-flight internet really will be a good thing. Until then, you should know that Aircell plans on having its in-flight WiFi service available on at least 2,000 commercial flights by the end of 2009. So take a trip, check out the TopTenREVIEWS blog from your seat in the middle of the row, and let us know how it goes. We do recommend, however, you don’t show this blog post to your boss ... and that you don't look at the monitor of the guy sitting next to you.

But here is a list of other boss-friendly and more-interesting-at-30,000-feet-up blogs for you to read:
