Probably the most fun I had at CES this year was parking my rump in Simcraft's professional racing simulator and tapping the pedals with my newly blistered feet.

Simcraft makes simulators for both professional race car drivers, enthusiasts, and even soldiers. Nothing new, right? Wrong. Simcraft products have full 3-axis motion and "... 40-degrees pitch, roll and yaw." If you've ever wondered what a goatee'd real-life incarnation of Bert from Sesame Street would look like driving a racing sim, click through to view the video.

I've never been in a racing sim that compares to Simcraft's. The motion was smooth when it needed to be, and jerky when it needed to be. Other sims are jerky ALL THE TIME. Unfortunately the cost is high for Simcraft's quality, precision engineering. The unit shown in the video, the APEX SC830, comes "Well-equipped at $44,500," so it's more for those with personal submarines or military/corporate customers. Single-digit millionaires or trust fund kids can get the trimmed down version, the APEX SC320, for $17,500.

So it's not really for cheapskate home users like me, but that's okay. I'll just write up a proposal outlining the Top 10 Reasons why TopTenREVIEWS needs to train its employees in proper vehicle handling. ;D

How would you justify the cost to your board of directors? I need tips, people!
